技術的には、古いものもあるので、歴史を知るための書籍かもしれない（名）

VPNとは。　評価：

VPNとはインターネット上に仮想の専用線を構築する技術である。
VPNには様々なソリューションがあり、それぞれに特徴がある。
本書は、いわゆる専用のVPN機器を使うものから、Linuxを用いて安価に構築する方法まで紹介されており、構築する側は自らのスキルとコストパフォーマンスを考えられるように構成されている。
そのため、始めから順に最後まで熟読せずとも、自分にとって興味深い章を重点的に読むことによって必要な技術、知識が修得できるようになっている。
そういう点ではある程度、VPNというものが分かっていたほうが本書は有効であろう。
